Spring 2026-2027 · 3 SU credits · 6 ECTS · Undergraduate

Humanitarian Management and Sustainability examines humanitarian action not only as an ethical response to crisis but as a complex economic system shaped by resources, labor, markets, and power. Drawing on case studies from the MENA region, Turkey, Africa, and Europe, the course follows the full arc of crisis response, from emergency intervention through protracted displacement to recovery and reconstruction. Key debates include localization, inequality within the humanitarian workforce, profit and power in aid systems, and the political economy of humanitarian action. Students are equipped to critically assess humanitarian interventions as material, political, and economic practic
