BAN 835 AI-Assisted Coding for Data Analytics

This course teaches the fundamental ideas to clean, manipulate, process, and analyze data using Python with the support of AI tools. Following a review of programming fundamentals and Python basics, students will learn to write, test, and debug code efficiently with AI assistance—using chatbots and AI-powered notebooks to generate code, obtain explanations, and accelerate development. The course involves hands-on coding exercises across real-world case studies, including working with files and documents, automating tasks, consuming APIs, and building LLM-powered applications. It serves as both an introduction to data analytics and a practical foundation for AI-assisted scientific computing.
